Molecular Mixology on your Wedding!

How about feeling mojito bubbles exploding in your mouth? Or having a Margarita with airy lime foam? Or just biting an ABC Shot? Well with molecular mixology you can make the difference!
Molecular mixology consists in mixing drinks using techniques found in science in order to experiment with ingredients on a molecular level.

Its purpose is to manipulate states of matter to create textures, shapes and visual effects, all this to create an interesting, innovative and fun experience.

Some of the ingredients that are used in molecular mixology are Cold Soluble Gelatin, Calcium Lactate, Sodium Alginate, Xanthan Gum, Soy Lecithin and even Liquid Nitrogen!
Those names might sound kind of dangerous, but believe me; these ingredients are used in plenty of foods. They are not toxic at all, so you can calm down and start being part of this new trend.

Molecular Mixology involves a variety of techniques, but the most popular are:

Spherification: It’s when your drink makes a bubble, it doesn’t matter the bubble size, but believe me, having the bubble in your mouth and feeling the splash of flavors is an awesome experience!

Gels/Fancy Jell-O Shots: This technique is not that new at all, but this is not about just having a drink to party, these Jell-O Shots will show all the colors of the ingredients and you can play with this technique matching the shots with your wedding theme having them in a classy or sassy way!

Ice Pops: They are made with Liquid Nitrogen, and it’s very easy and fast to prepare! Colors, flavors, size and shapes, you can do whatever you want!

Frozen ‘Nitro’ Cocktails: want to avoid the blending machine noise? Once again Liquid Nitrogen is the option. The way the drinks look when they are being served it’s impressive; you would appreciate how the drink and the environment’s temperature crash. A really ‘cool’ look!

Foams/Air: It’s like having a sugar cotton candy, but with the taste of your favorite drink. It’s mostly made with Margaritas, but if you talk with your bartender I’m sure he will find the best option for you.

Layered Cocktails: Are you wondering how is it possible that the ingredients do not mix? Well, Molecular Mixology is the reason why this is possible. Colors and flavors is all what you are going to have!

I have given you some ideas to create a ‘wow’ factor in your drinks, now it’s your turn to choose the flavors, colors and techniques that can match with your wedding theme!

Cheers!

Vintage Decoration

You have been recently engaged, and the time to plan your dream wedding has arrived!
One of the principal details that you must take into consideration is the ceremony and reception decoration.
You love old things and you love the 20’s and 30’s? Well as you must know, Vintage Deco has become an interesting trend, so why not having a Vintage Wedding theme?
Here you can find fun and functional ideas you can apply at your special event.

Bird cages

These details are a must on your wedding, you may consider hanging them on trees and form a structure with some neutral color flowers. That might look kind of old but
will give a fancy touch.

Lighting

To have a vintage ambiance, it´s essential to have string lights. They create a romantic scene and they look prettier on an outdoor venue.
A creative and at the same time eco idea is having clean and empty jars and put some candles on them.
Another idea is to use again the Bird cages and create a lighting structure, adding candles on them to create a romantic and chic atmosphere.

Old furniture

Having old furniture is a plus, they are not necessary, but we know that they can make the difference that you are looking for. Look at this photos, isn’t a great idea presenting the wedding cake like this?

Beach decoration

Bamboo chairs + Vintage huppa + flowers
Simple but yet vintage ;)

Extra details

Remember that you can always have a plus, think about the moment your guests arrive to the reception venue, instead of having a list or a host assigning seats, you can have some keys with the guest’s name and its seats, or having a little plastic bird holding the names of the people you are sitting on each table. Also having some favors could be cool, think about having some candies in an old style bag, some wine openers, cup mats, anything could be great!

Hope you have an excellent Vintage Wedding.
